Nobokontho24:: The number of coronavirus or Covid-19 patients has increased in the last 24 hours, reporting 31 coronavirus-positive cases while no deaths were logged during the period.

“Bangladesh reported 0.74 percent of Covid-19 positive cases as 4,189 samples were tested during the last 24 hours,” a daily statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Tuesday (January 3).

The official tally showed that the virus killed a total of 29,440 people and infected 20,37,187 so far, the statement added.

The recovery count rose to 19,88,030 after another 107 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the last 24 hours.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.59 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.45 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.

Dhaka logged the highest number of cases among the eight divisions, with 27 infections.
