Nobokontho24, Barishal : Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today termed BNP as a “great disaster” of the country. Referring to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, he said everything will be settled through the elections. People will resist the insult of the flag by putting it on the stick in the name of a rally.

Awami League General Secretary said these at the first conference of Cumilla Metropolitan Awami League on Saturday.

To the BNP, Obaidul Quader said, “BNP is saying that Rangpur, Chattogram people are flocking here and there. I will tell BNP to come to Cumilla and see the gathering of people three-four times more than their rally.”

In the opening speech of the conference, he said that he (Tarique Rahman) has crossed London with the bond of money of corruption. The people of Bangla no longer want to see murderers, corruptors and criminals in power.

“August 15 mastermind Commander Ziaur Rahman. He assisted in the murder of the Father of the Nation under the guidance of Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain, And his party is BNP. I want to say – a great disaster is surviving in the country and that is BNP,” Obaidul Quader added.

The assembly was presided over by Cumilla-6 MP AKM Bahauddin Bahar while Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim was the chief guest on the occasion, joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif was the keynote speaker on the occasion and the special speakers were organizing secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon, relief and social welfare secretary Babu Sujit Roy Nandi, science and technology affairs secretary Engineer Md. Abdur Sabur and information and research editor Dr. Salim Mahmud.
