The whole world has seen the madness of Bangladesh for Argentina during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year. The country of football legend Messi has been fascinated by this. They now want to reward the love. As a part of that, the Latin American nation had already announced the opening of the Argentine embassy in Dhaka. Now it is known that the country is going to open the embassy in February.

 

 

It is known that Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero is due in Bangladesh on February 26 to inaugurate the embassy in Dhaka. The embassy will be inaugurated the next day February 27.

 

 

A delegation headed by Franco Seniliani, Deputy Ambassador of the Argentine Embassy in New Delhi, is set to come to Dhaka on Monday as part of the preparations for the opening of the embassy in Bangladesh. Franco confirmed this information to media on Sunday evening.

 

 

A senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh said that Argentina’s Foreign Minister Santiago will arrive in Dhaka on February 26 on a three-day visit. During the visit, besides inaugurating the embassy, ​​he will have a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as well as Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.

 

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent a congratulatory letter to the country’s President Alberto Fernandez after Argentina won the World Cup football title in December last year. Argentine President Alberto wrote a letter thanking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in response to the congratulatory message.

 

 

In the letter, Alberto wrote, he believes that the people of the two countries will be bound by the bond of brotherhood and harmony by establishing Argentine embassy in Dhaka in 2023.

 

 

The issue of the opening of the Argentine embassy in Dhaka mainly came to the limelight following a tweet by the country’s foreign minister.

 

 

On December 12 last year, Argentina’s Foreign Minister Santiago wrote in a tweet that talks have been held with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen regarding the re-opening of his country’s embassy in Dhaka, which was closed in 1978.

 

 

Bangladesh’s strong support for the Argentina football team has been for a long time. However, during the recently concluded World Cup in Qatar, the passion of the people of Bangladesh towards the Argentina team caught the attention of the world. Especially the reactions of Bangladeshi fans before and after the Argentina game spread widely across the globe thanks to social media.
